Genealogy of Rustico Area Acadian Families
The Farmers’ Bank of Rustico Museum has a large collection of genealogical information collected by Theresa Gallant over a number of years, and more recent additions by Clem Gallant.
There are various records and local histories – including photocopies of St. Augustine’s Church (1812-1907), St. Ann’s Church (1881-1900) and St. Anne de Restigouche Church Registers (1860-1870); binders of Family Sheets; indexes of births, marriages and deaths; Parish Histories for St. Augustine’s Church, St. Ann’s Church and Stella Maris Church, etc.; Cemetery Transcripts with cards of tombstones; various Census Records; old maps of the area + Meacham’s 1880 Atlas and Cummins 1928 Atlas; a variety of Leases and Wills and more.
There are Books on Acadians by various authors: Bona Arsenault, J. Henri Blanchard, Patrice Gallant, Stephen White, Jean Bernard, Georges Arsenault and more.
There will be a fee charged for an appointment based on the search required.
